Water & Sewer Lines

Excavating Water & Sewer Lines

When your water and sewer lines are backed up, cracked, corroded or otherwise damaged, it can cause extensive damage to your property and affect your business. We offer a variety of water and sewer pipe services.

Sewer pipes over two decades old are prone to failure. Lines could be damaged prematurely, however, by cracks, misaligned connections, or tree roots. It is very important to prevent plumbing from reaching the point of complete failure. If a sewer line fails, repair costs will be tremendously higher than preventative maintenance. If a problem is not realized soon enough, additional repairs such as wall replacement, carpet replacement, and foundation repair may be needed. Early detection is key to saving an owner’s house or business and wallet.

Signs you need a new sewer line

• High Water/Sewer Bills

• Frequent drain clogs

Video Drain Inspection

Video Drain Inspections help spot the problem areas quickly and clearly

Discovering blockages early is vital for the same reason, as pipes can be overstressed from clogging and suffer increased water pressure over time. Making sure your pipes flow smoothly increases performance and lengthens the lifespan of your plumbing system.

The advantage of a camera inspection is that there is no need to guess about the state of your pipes, nor do they need to be dug up before you receive a quote. By utilizing Video Drain Inspection you can have a clear look before beginning a potentially costly project — allowing you to make informed decisions based on accurate, upfront information.

Jones Excavating & Plumbing will perform a sewer camera inspection to help determine the location and gravity of the problem. Through this inspection, we can also determine the appropriate preventive maintenance routine for your sewers to prevent any property damage or sewer failure in the future. Our color sewer camera inspections will also accurately detect and diagnose the pipeline that needs excavation.

Trenchless "No Dig" Sewer Line Techniques

Sewer line repairs can cost more than the pipe and labor.  After hundreds of dollars spent on the repair, you can be left with thousands more in landscaping, appliances, and interior repairs.  The traditional method of repair requires costly excavating to remove the old pipe from the ground and install new. Fortunately new technologies and materials have given us two effective and less-invasive methods for replacing underground sewer and drain pipe without major excavation.

Requiring only small holes, Trenchless sewer repair services are typically quicker to perform and have minimal impact on yards, driveways parking lots, and the like.

1. Pipe-Bursting or Pipe-Pulling

The first technique is known as pipe-pulling or pipe-bursting.  It gets this name because the new pipe is pulled through the old pipe’s location, while breaking up the old and damaged pipe.  By digging a hole at the start and end points of the damage pipe, a new pipe can be lowered into place and pulled through the space occupied by the older pipe. This method only requires small access holes at the beginning and end of your damaged underground pipes.

Benefits to Pipe-Bursting or Pipe Pulling:

• Minimally invasive

• It's efficient

• It's effective

• It's long lasting

• It's cost effective
